Imagine falling down the rabbit hole and entering a new world. WR and Brillig is a multi-restaurant concept that combines the traditional tea rituals of British and Japanese culture, layered with a playful, off-kilter aesthetic inspired by the world of Alice in Wonderland. The setting is Chinatown in Los Angeles, on a pedestrian road that reminds of early scenes from Miyazaki’s Spirited Away. The multi-restaurant space was designed to be discovered one layer at a time, where each visit is slightly different. First, you might see the Pastry Shop from the main road, as well as a larger door next to it leading somewhere inward. This door would take you to the Tea Room, which resides in the middle of the space. Finally, if you received a special access key after dining at either WR space, you could access Brillig Bar in the evening at the end of the alleyway. A special Thank You to Vlad Almonnord for helping bring my vision to life :)
